Scootcar Rates

*2 people, Combined Weight 375 lbs max. Individuals over 6 feet tall may be cramped. Passenger must be at least 5 years of age.

It's a what? Many visitors to Friday Harbor often stop and wonder about the latest addition to Susie's Mopeds. It's part moped, part car, hence a Scootcar.

Reminding many people of something from "The Jetsons", Scootcars are a popular item at Susie's Mopeds. It allows for two people to ride together, while giving them a more moped-like experience. With a top speed of 25 MPH, the Scootcar is an ideal way for two people to share a pleasant day touring San Juan Island.
Inside the Scootcar, you'll find that many of the controls are similar to that of your car. A foot-operated brake and accelerator mean you are able to keep both hands firmly on the steering yoke. Finger tip controls for headlights and turn signals. A handbrake and key start complete the interior package. Scootcars also feature seatbelts for safety, and everyone is required to wear a helmet.

Scootcar Rates & Rental Requirements:

Operator of the Scootcar must be at least 21 years of age. Passenger must be at least 5 years of age.

You must have a valid drivers license with you.

Credit card--We accept Visa, Mastercard, American Express, and Discover for the required damage/security deposit.

Rates: $65/hour, $130 per day. Rates are prorated after the first hour in 30 minute increments. After 2 1/2 hours, a day rate of $130 is applied. Prices include helmet, review of equipment, island map, and a full tank of gas. All Scootcars must be refilled with gas by the renter prior to returning to Scootcar to avoid a $20.00 gas charge.

No overnight rentals. All Scootcars must be returned by our designated closing time.
